Previews and New News!

I'm baaaaaack....=) Yes, two posts two days in a row! LOL! The reason I'm doing this is because I won't have time next week because of work.  I'm going to be too tired so I decided to do it now! I have the new releases already posted on my website and blog. Just click on the links and it will take you directly there.  But before you go there let me show you the images!

You might recognize Evan because he was a custom order and when I showed the card everyone loved him and were asking if I was going to sell him. I usually don't sell them but decided that I would since you guys loved him so. As far as the fairy-tale princess,  I was inspired by a lot of movies. I tried to get one of every culture but I did notice there was not one of my heritage so I decided to make one up.

These were inspired by my older collections and the fact that school is just about to begin I decided to draw up some special ones to go with the others.

These are the 'older' ones that I'm talking about.  A perfect little set!

Nerdy Boy
Cute right?! I love this new collection but I'm so in love with the next collections coming up! Yes, I have drawn up some more but I can't show you until the following months! =) Maybe in the future months I will give you guys a sneak peak but for right now you will have to wait patiently. Jeejee!

Now for the second part of the post! As many of you have seen, I have chosen the newbies to my D.T! I'm super excited and will even have a few surprises in store each month.  Well, some of the newbies have continued or just started to create projects using Sushi Dolls!!!! I'm in awe with there art so I decided to share some of their videos here!

Sharon (suralear1) : "I live in Idaho and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been a social worker for 29 years.  I am bilingual in Spanish and English.  I work in a school district as a behavior specialist.  I am married to a wonderful man that is from El Salvador.  I have two boys of my own( from a previous marriage) and I have three step-children.  We have 11 grandchildren (one is blood related to me) and the rest are from my wonderful step-children.  I have been scrapbooking and paper crafting for close to six years now and it is the best therapy in this world.  I have learned most everything about scrapbooking and paper crafting from the wonderful scrapbooking community on YouTube."

She has already made a project using on of the Sushi Dolls! I absolutely love how her project came out! I love the idea of a decorated gift bag and I have been inspired to make one for one of my friends who will be going back to school in the fall!

Christine (serenityinhim) :  "Hi! I'm a single Mom of two beautiful boys, Matthew 20 and Lucas 12, whom I absolutely ADORE!  I have been crafting for over 15 years but a paper crafter for 13 years. I am happy to say that I have found my HAPPY place and crafting takes me to the very relaxed state of being.  My first passion is scrapbooking but love card making just as much; I love to create my little pieces of art.  You will see my style in crafting varies because I enjoy creating projects that challenge me to think outside the box.  So there is a little bit of a variety on my YouTube channel...hope you will come by and visit! Today I currently enjoy mixed media, altering and mixing my scrapbook layouts with my love of stamps. Oh and did I mention that there is not a patterned paper and/or stamp I didn't like, I like them all!! =)"

"As an Office Manager and single Mom I need to have a way to relax and de-stress, crafting has been that for me thus my creating has now become a necessity in my I also enjoy teaching others to craft so that they have a way to relax as well...I know for me it's cheap therapy."

She has made a ton of projects using Sushi Dolls already! I don't know how to explain her projects but they are like scenery projects that have a little story to tell.  I love what she is currently doing because it's a story that continues.  You need to check out her videos!

So far so good right?! I'm loving this! I can't wait to see what else they do and can't wait to see what the rest of the newbies create! I'm so excited And a new surprise every month?! Come one people! Start getting excited!!!!!!! Woot woot!!!!!

You are all Winners in my Eyes!

As corny as they may sound it is very true (the title I mean).  I have been going back and forth on choosing the new additions to my design team. It's been very agonizing to pick the new addtions to the point where I was crying! Yes crying! I think it's about that time of the month. LOL! But seriously, it was very very hard to choose and I even got my current design team to give me their opinions.  I NEVER expected so many people to enter! So it was a total surprise when I saw how many people did enter.  I was over joyed and amazed by everyone's entry.  I could tell how much everyone put into their projects and that means so much to me.  This is one of the reasons why it's so hard to choose.  ='(

And if you read the last blog post you know that the girls who do not make the team will be able to choose a Sushi Doll of your choice as a thank you gift for trying out.  I didn't want you all to leave without anything so I thought this would be a nice gift for the gift you gave me.  So please e-mail me at so I can send out your S.D of your choice.  Oh! And I have another surprise for you ladies but you will have to e-mail me for that one. =)

Without further ado here are the new additions to my design team. Drum roll please....trrrr trrrr trrrrrrrrrrrr........

Sushi Dolls Design Team Open Call Entries!

Well, since I have a day off I can now show off all the wonderful entries that I have received for my open call! I am overwhelmed with the ALL the amazing artists that have entered. I never expected to have these many! SERIOUSLY this is a blessing and I'm so very happy! So thank you to all of you!  It's going to be a very difficult thing to choose the new additions to my D.T! I don't know how I will do it! Aye!

Before I go and show you all the projects I do want to say something else. Because I was not expecting such a huge turn out I want to show how very grateful I am to all of you. For those who do not make it into the D.T this time I will be giving you a FREE image, of your choice, for even taking the time and making your project(s).  I know each and everyone of you have worked your buttocks off and instead of just leaving you hanging dry, I would love to give you a little thank you...=) So with that said, no one will leave with an empty hand! Yay! Hope this was a nice little surprise for all of you.

And now, without further interruptions, here are the entries!

Jeni's Project

(She is a Spanish entry. You can use the translator on the upper right-hand corner to translate the info below.)

I don't like to limit myself to one type of craft. I love using my Cricut, Silhouette, coloring images, scrapbooking, card making, and so much more. "My Project for the design team call is a card measuring about 4" x 4" and the plain card stock is from my stash and the pattern paper is from DCWV summer collection from way back.  I coloured my image with promarkers and went round the outside with distress ink - salty ocean and matted it on green card stock.  The stickers are also from DCWV."

Ardilla's Poject

(She is a Spanish entry. You can use the translator on the upper right-hand corner to translate the info below.)

Description of her project:
Project: A three card set using Abby Cupcake coloured with alcohol markers. The cards were created with the papers from MME Happy Day and using the same basic layout so they would look like a set. About Tracy:
" A Jamaica girl living in Florida, I love to experiment with different types of crafts and have been known to spend hours strolling in big box stores and local craft havens. My craft of choice was crochet, until the day a cousin entered me in a beauty pageant and I won! I decided to create a scrapbook of the event which led me to scrapbooking magazines and the wonderful world of papercrafting."

Nicole's Project

About Nicole:
"I am a fellow hand drawer myself and have recently started doing my own stamps as first prototypes should be in my hands the beginning of next week!  whoot whoot! lol  Anyways....I have always loved art and grew up with it all my life with influences from my dad and uncle.  In fact my dad always preached to me, "if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life."  Since I've been doing drawings and stamping, I am finally living this dream!  I am a card maker at heart, it's what I do most of.  I have started smashing, however, I don't do many layouts.   I do all types of coloring from copics/spectrums, colored pencils, water coloring with distress inks and I just recently added inktense pencils to my collection! can't wait to try those out!  I feel I have my own style, so I don't think I could put a name to it like "shabby chique"...which i'm definitely not! lol  I love cartoon type images and anything that I can create to look bright and colorful!  which could be the new name for me!  even when I was getting my design degree, my friends couldn't even figure out what my "category" was than, but that's ok! lol"

Show and Tell

Hello there!

It's bee a long while! So much has been going on but you can read about it on my other blog. In this blog I want to share some projects that I finished, the new July S.D releases, extension on the D.T call and some of my D.T awesome projects.

O.k. Let's start with some cards that I have made for a customer.  She wanted me to make some cartoon characters of the photos on invitations that she had.  I loved how they came out and it was so much fun crafting! It's been a good minute since I have done anything crafting related! So here are some pictures of the 2 cards that I made.
This is Evan. The little boy in the picture but cartoon styled. I love how he came out and I have decided to sell him but not until next month.  He is too adorable!

This is the inside of the card.  I used some $1 stamps  for the glasses and mustache. I drew in the sticks to make them look like props.  I also used some alpha stamps to add the sentiment 'birthday boy.'

Here is a close up of the image and the card.  Loved how they came out!

This is another custom card I made.  I loved drawing these cuties because it was challenging.  She wanted them to look exactly like the picture so that is why they are in blue.

I made this card into an easel card. I wanted the sentiment to be an element of surprise and I think it's fitting with the drawing...don't you think? =)
 Here are the new releases for July! These are available on my website and in this blog. I will leave both links so you can go purchase them! =}

THERE IS AN EXTENSION ON THE D.T CALL!!!  Because my life has been too crazy lately and I have not had time to sit and look at what has been coming in I have decided to extend the deadline to this Saturday.  The exact date would be July the 6th. Once I receive all the entries I will be posting them here on this blog on Sunday or Monday. And finally on Friday I will announce the winners. I also have an additional surprise that I will include in that post. So stay tuned for that too!

And now for what my designers have been making! They all did an amazing job so make sure to check them out!

Here is Steph's 2 projects.  They are freaking adorable and I wubby!!!!!
